1% for the Planet
Since January 2020, Icebug has been a proud member of 1% for the Planet. This means we commit to donating 1% of our total sales – regardless of whether we make a profit or not – to nonprofit environmental organizations and projects that make a difference.
We were the first outdoor footwear brand in the world to join 1% for the Planet. Our focus is on supporting organizations that work to combat climate change, protect regenerative ecosystems, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions – efforts that also help strengthen biodiversity.

2024 results – What you helped make happen
Financial contributions are just one part of our sustainability efforts – but an important one. And something we do with pride and joy. We’ve now summarized the impact from 2024. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over two million SEK to forests, health, water, and climate.
Over one million SEK for forest conservation
We support a number of organizations that work to preserve natural environments in Sweden and beyond. The largest single recipient in 2024 was Naturarvet, which purchases and protects valuable old-growth forests that would otherwise be at risk of logging.
In addition to Naturarvet in Sweden, we also helped the following organizations protect forests in their home countries: Skydda Skogen, the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS), Finland’s Luonnonperintösäätiö, and Naturvernforbundet in Norway.
Hej Främling – 240,000 SEK
Hej Främling works to create a society where everyone can thrive and feel a sense of belonging. Their health-promoting activities bring people from different backgrounds together.
Starting in 2024, we are funding Hej Främling’s work in Gothenburg, which includes Friendship Yoga in Biskopsgården, morning runs in the city center, and senior walks in Partille.
Exponential Roadmap Initiative – 222,000 SEK
The Exponential Roadmap Initiative brings together companies and organizations to accelerate the transition to a sustainable society. Among other things, ERI developed The Greening Cash Action Guide, which helps companies demand sustainability from their banks.
Tuki Nepal – 125,000 SEK
Thanks to our contribution, eight local entrepreneurs in Nepal received interest-free loans and training to start businesses building houses with eco-friendly, earthquake-resistant eco-bricks.
Each new home saves an average of 9.5 tons of CO₂ compared to traditional construction methods – and the first houses have already proven their strength in recent earthquakes. This project doesn’t just create climate-smart housing, but also jobs and long-term security in local communities.
Solvatten – 125,000 SEK
The Swedish organization Solvatten has developed an innovative solution: containers that use solar energy to both heat and purify drinking water. This means families no longer need to collect firewood and boil water – a task that often falls on girls and women.
This time, our support was enough for 114 Solvatten units, providing 570 people in Uganda with access to clean, heated drinking water in their daily lives. The impact can be seen in everything from fewer sick days to more children attending school and women having more time for other activities.
Thank you – we hope you feel just as proud of your contribution as we do.
